I am pleased to announce that Qt 5.11.1 is released today. As a patch release Qt 5.11.1 does not add any new functionality, but provides important bug fixes and other improvements.

New Qt 5.11.1 is first patch release for Qt 5.11 series. There are fixes for over 150 bugs and it contains more than 700 changes compared to Qt 5.11.0. For details of the most important changes, please check the Change files of Qt 5.11.1. And don’t worry if some fix is missing from new Qt5.11.1 release; we are planning to release Qt 5.11.2 at the beginning of September.

Qt 5.11.1 can be updated by using the maintenance tool of the online installer. For new installations, please download latest online installer from Qt Account portal or from qt.io Download page. Offline packages are available for commercial users in the Qt Account portal and at the qt.io Download page for open-source users. You can also try out the Commercial evaluation option from the qt.io Download page.

Hi Jani,
Congratulations!
Since 5.11, however, build of Qt with webengine for win-32 is broken.
There are no win-32 binaries as well.
Please, consider fixing QTBUG-68462.
Thanks, Robert

Hi Robert. Let’s hope we will have time to fix QTBUG-68462 before 5.11.2 release.

Dimitar Dobrev says:

How about https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-63708?

Jani Heikkinen Jani Heikkinen says:

I don’t think we will add that for 5.11 series, let’s see. As Harald commented in the issue there is already really many windows pre-built binaries available and unfortunately we just can’t keep on adding new ones without removing something else. It is capability issue (disk space, building, packaging, testing etc).

Dimitar Dobrev says:

I understand, thank you. In such a case do you think you could drop MSVC 2015 32-bit for MSVC 2017 32-bit? This way you won’t maintain more packages than you do now, and while I understand you’d rather choose MSVC 2015 for reasons of backward compatibility, the lack of QtWebEngine there drastically changes the issue.

Something changed with SQL integration comparing to Qt 5.9.6?

Just test it with our application and “.import QtQuick.LocalStorage 2.0 as SQL” is not working anymore.

function getDataBase() {
return SQL.LocalStorage.openDatabaseSync(“DB”, “”,
“Settings”,
10000);
}

“SQL not found” ?

Jani Heikkinen Jani Heikkinen says:

Hi!
Please write a bug report to Jira about this issue.

Sandro F says:

Uh, sorry…was using 5.11.0 instead of 5.11.1 which fixes this regression:

– Fix regression with .import in .js files not working when using
CONFIG+=qtquickcompiler.

5.11.1 is working fine!

Louis says:

It seems like these ones: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-68447 and https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-68767
Did you try with 5.11.1 and not 5.11.0?
Otherwise, you can report a bug 🙂

John Anderson says:

What a nice announcement. The bugs are now reduced. I will be using the Qt to automate some routers by https://netgears.support/netgear-powerline/ . Please provide some more features Qt. Thank you.

Does the offline installer work now?

I mean if I am in a company behind a firewall…
…yes I heard that one can plug of the network but its hard
to understand for me that such an industry proofed product has such bugs…

the installation is the first contact … like when you present yourself when you try to get a job,
the first impression is very important 🙂

so … is this bug fixed now?

Klaus

Prav Ogrev says:

>Does the offline installer work now?
Nope … https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTIFW-1115 … this is regression and it exist in ALL Qt releases from 12-Feb-2018 which is Qt releases 5.10.1, 5.9.4, 5.9.5, 5.9.6, 5.11.0, 5.11.1 and Qt Creator 4.5.2, 4.6.0, 4.6.1, 4.6.2
But well … you know … it is not considered as a IFW-show-stopper … only P2 priority … P2 bugs can easily be kept in this state for years. And you probably do not know … but Uninstaller would not UNINSTALL without connection to server … nice feature (it not a bug of cause)! 😉

Katja says:

Offline installers work like before – you need to have proper internet connection or no connection at all.

Prav Ogrev says:

>Offline installers work like before
If this regression is not considered as bug then you can say so. But if it is regression then “before” should refered to “before regression was introduced” (this is QtCreator 4.5.1 and Qt 5.10.0) offline installers were working fine. Even UNINSTALLER need LAN-disconnection now!
This is world class user experience! 😉

Molebogeng Maponya says:

Qt 5.11 says QtStudio3d 1.1 is not installed even after I wrote “Import QtStudio3d 1.1” and the qml folder contains the QtStudio3d folder

Janne says:

Try import QtStudio3D 2.0 . New runtime has that version.

peter says:

Download just does not work actually,
do you have problems with your servers?

Nick says:

Download and install sizes have been substantially increased in 5.11. 5.10 linux gcc is less than 300MB, while 5.11 nearly 3GB. The reason seems to be that in 5.11, none of the binaries are stripped, including the utilities in “bin” (like moc, qmake, assistant, etc.)

Was this intended? It seems to me that only the debug versions of the libraries should ship unstripped, but now everything is unstripped.

@Nick: Yes, Linux binaries via the online installer now contain debug information files (symbols). In the future these are intended to be optional download item, but with Qt 5.11 they are always downloaded.

Johann Kraus says:

Download of offline installer:

Qt 5.11.1 for Windows (2.4 GB) hangs

download of offline installer
Qt 5.9.6 for Windows (2.3 GB)

works just now. I started both downloads on the same machine at the same time (now)

Johann

joniyang says:

Please fix https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-64654
This happen on all Qt version 5.9 to dev branch. I think this should be P1 since google will have remove completely gcc in ndk r18.

Thanks

Fermín says:

Hi.
Thank you for continuing to provide support for this great framework.

For the webengine module, is there a way to increase the maximum number of connections per server?
